This city was ruled by the Pandias and they have ruled some of the parts of Tamil Nadu under the caption Pandia Nadu (Pandia Region). This temple comprises of 4 gopurams (Tall towers) artistically designed. The streets are constructed in a square type and one of such street is within the temple premises. This city is famous for Tamil a Dravidian Language and some great scholars developed Tamil by instituting an organization called Tamil Sangam. This town is surrounded by lot of small towns and small villages,so that this Madurai city has become a very famous business center now. We can write a lot still about this city. I am concluding now.
